About me

I am a communications expert and seasoned multimedia journalist with over 17 years of experience across television, radio, and digital platforms.

My career has been defined by a deep commitment to storytelling that informs, empowers, and drives change. Currently, I serve as the President of the Kenya Editors’ Guild, where I lead strategic media engagement, advocacy for press freedom, and capacity building across the industry.

I began my journey in broadcast journalism in 2007 and have since grown into leadership roles that demand both editorial excellence and strategic thinking. Whether anchoring prime-time news, hosting live political debates, or mentoring emerging journalists, I bring energy, focus, and integrity to the work I do.

My academic background—Master of Science in Governance, Peace and Security, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies—complements my practical experience, allowing me to navigate complex communication challenges with clarity and depth.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of conducting exclusive interviews with Heads of State and senior government officials across Africa and beyond.

I’ve also moderated nationally televised political debates and hosted shows that provide a platform for public discourse on governance, law, and policy. These experiences have strengthened my belief in the power of media to shape societies and advance accountability.

One of the most fulfilling aspects of my work has been mentoring journalists—especially women and young professionals—through training, newsroom leadership, and workshops across Kenya and the region. I’m passionate about nurturing the next generation of storytellers and equipping them with tools to thrive in a rapidly evolving media landscape.

In recent years, I’ve led the development of key training manuals on climate change reporting and biotechnology, in collaboration with academia, government, and development partners.

I’ve also built strategic partnerships with institutions like UNICEF, UNDP, Friedrich Naumann Foundation, and the British High Commission, working on projects that elevate journalism standards and promote civic education.

Beyond the newsroom, I’m an advocate for innovation in journalism—embracing digital tools, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies to enhance news accuracy, engagement, and sustainability. I have also been part of high-level delegations to China and other countries to explore global best practices in media.

I bring to every opportunity a deep understanding of African media ecosystems, a collaborative spirit, and a results-driven approach.

I’m always open to new challenges where I can apply my experience, lead with purpose, and create impact—especially in roles that intersect media, governance, development, and digital transformation.

When I’m not in front of a camera or in the newsroom, I enjoy mentoring, wellness advocacy, and supporting environmental restoration efforts through tree planting and community engagement.

I believe journalism is more than a profession—it’s a lifelong responsibility to truth, service, and people.
